For the mountain landscape painting I chose to use light blues and grays to represent the mountains and the lake that the house which is reflected into the lake. The house was red and being red it made it really stand out from all the other colors. I used the wet on wet technique for some parts of the sky. Wet on wet is when you first out a layer of water on where you are going to paint then you put your water color on where it is wet, the watercolor will bleed through that part of where you put the water. We used atmospheric perspective which is when you paint the things farther away lighter becasue the color and shadows are harder to see to make a definite shape. In order to make these colors we had to add lots of water and use the opposite of a certain color to make that lighter. Foreground in my painting would be the lake and the reflection. The middle ground would be the house and the background would be the mountains. |
